The Montana Film Office does not require film permits; however, the State Park System, the Department of State Lands, and the Department of Transportation and Highways do require a permit or prior approval.  Various federal agencies such as the National Park Service, the National Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management also require permits.  In all cases, the Montana Film Office can act as your liaison with the appropriate agencies.
