America's Got Talent Casting Call

NBC's hit show America's Got Talent is teaming up with Montana's Film Office to spread the word out on our casting calls this year for Season 4 of America's Got Talent. We would love to get as many residents of Montana to come out and audition or send in a video tape of your talent. With a talent search open to any act of any age, America's Got Talent has brought the variety format back to the forefront of American culture by showcasing the hottest performers from across the country. Each week, the show features a colorful array of hopeful stars, including singers, dancers, comedians, pets, musicians, contortionists, impressionists, jugglers, magicians and ventriloquists, all vying for their chance to perform on stage in front of our panel of celebrity judges and the viewing audience in the hopes they'll be chosen the winner.

For Season 4, America's Got Talent is currently planning a massive nationwide audition tour starting in January. The auditions will be traveling across America to over eight major cities including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington D.C., Austin to name a few. This is your chance to compete for the opportunity of a lifetime at winning the grand prize of $1,000,000 and a headline show on the Las Vegas strip. So, do YOU have talent? If so here's your chance to show America!

2009 IWFF Announces Call for Entries
Entries are now being accepted for the 2009 International Wildlife Film Festival. IWFF is the first and longest running wildlife film festival in the world, and will be held in Missoula, MT May 9-16, 2009. Veteran filmmakers, student filmmakers, scientists, conservationists, and industry leaders of wildlife films come together for a week of award-winning films, dynamic seminars, and social events. The festival is a place where networking, project development, and learning opportunities abound. The theme for this year’s festival is Global Vision: Wild In Focus.

To be eligible for the Festival’s juried competition, films must have a focus on non-domesticated wildlife species and habitats. Regular entry deadline is January 31, 2009 and the late entry deadline is February 9, 2009 (there is a late entry fee of 20% for all film entries recieved after January 31).

Attention Documentary Filmmakers

The AFI/Discovery Channel Documentary Festival is now accepting entries for Documentary Features and Shorts for the annual SILVERDOCS festival (June 15-22, 2009). SILVERDOCS was created through an alliance between AFI and the Discovery Channel to showcase documentaries that exhibit a personal cinematic vision and celebrate the spirit of independent filmmaking.

Documentaries should have been completed on or after March 2007, and not screened on television or theatrically in the US prior to the Festival. For more information about the festival visit www.silverdocs.com. Apply on-line at www.withoutabox.com.

BBC Production Searching for Ideas

The BBC is looking for unique Montanan stories that illustrate man's relationship and interaction with the environment. These stories should leave you amazed at man's clever use and understanding of nature. Do you know of a mountain man who is living entirely off the land? 2009 Big Sky Documentary Film Festival
February 13 - 22, 2009

The Big Sky Documentary Film Festival is the premiere venue for nonfiction film in the American West. From February 13-22, 2009 the festival will screen 100 films, including world and U.S. premieres, classics, rare and experimental works on Montana's largest screen at the historic Wilma Theater in downtown Missoula, Montana. In addition to ten days of screenings, the event will feature many public and VIP events including panel discussions, galas, receptions and networking round-tables. The competitive event is open to non-fiction films and videos of all genres, subject matter, lengths and production dates. Awards and cash prizes will be given for Best Documentary Feature (over 50 minutes), Best Documentary Short (15-50 minutes), Best Mini-Doc (under 15 minutes) and best documentary about the American West (the "Big Sky Award"). Montana Actor's Studio

Montana Actor's Studio is a networking community comprised of individuals of all ages and varying career levels from all facets of the entertainment industry. Monthly meetings are designed for networking, to share ideas and information about the 'biz' and to meet actors and other film folk. New happenings at the Studio include weekly audition exercises with Casting Director, Tina Buckingham and Director, Pascal Grapard. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of the month. At our monthly meetings we provide a fun and relaxed atmosphere where everyone can learn and support each other. Networking is key to success in the film biz. Not a member yet? Give it a try. MTV Documentary Casting Call

MTV is currently casting an upcoming series focusing on young women during their pregnancy. As we realize that this is a sensitive subject that many of our young women are experiencing, our goal is to show what pregnant women, from varying backgrounds, are experiencing in their everyday lives. From morning sickness to mood swings, and to even the day of the baby's arrival, we would like you to let us document this exciting, life changing event.
