McDonald Lake
McDonald Lake is a reservoir located just 13.4 miles from Pablo, in the state of Montana, United States, near Kicking Horse, MT. Click here for more photos.
Placid Lake
Located on a branch of the Clearwater River, Placid Lake is known for its good trout fishing and smooth water. A number of facilities are provided for camping, picnicking, boating and swimming. Interpretive panels give an account of the early-day logging practices attested to by the massive western larch stumps in the area. The park is 32 acres in size and is 4,100 feet in elevation. Salmon Lake
A natural impoundment, Salmon Lake is one of the beautiful links in the chain of lakes on the Clearwater River and just south of Seeley Lake. Fishing, boating, and a variety of water sports are popular activities in this woodland setting of western larch, ponderosa pine, and Douglas-fir. Click here for more photos.
Seeley Lake
Seeley Lake is a 1,025-acre glacially-formed lake. It is stocked several times each year with rainbow trout, some weighing up to 15 pounds. The lake is also very popular among bass fishermen and boasts one of the finest bass fisheries in western Montana. Other fish species include kokanee salmon, bull trout, whitefish, perch and bluegills. Seeley Lake is one of a half dozen lakes in the Clearwater Valley known as the 'Chain of Lakes,' through which the Clearwater River flows. From north to south these lakes are: Rainy Lake, Lake Alva, Lake Inez, Seeley Lake and Salmon Lake. These lakes are easily accessible from Highway 83 and most have modern, developed campgrounds nearby. There are three Forest Service campgrounds on Seeley Lake with swimming areas; Seeley Lake Campground, River Point Campground and Big Larch Campground. Click here for more photos.
Upsata Lake
Upsata Lake is a state fishing access site located in west central Montana. Camping is permitted with limited facilities. No drinking water is availalbe. Fishing and boating may be enjoyed complete with a boat launch facility. Time limit of 7 days. Existing ADA Level: Difficult Accessibility. Click here for more information.
