Accommodations tax Exemption: Production companies staying longer than 30 days at the same hotel/motel are exempt from the 7% bed tax, but you’ll find our accommodations downright affordable even if you don’t stay 30 days.

Licensing exemptions: Out-of-state commercial vehicles and equipment used exclusively in the production of motion pictures, television, or commercials are exempt from licensing requirements for 180 consecutive days.


Experienced crew with impressive feature and commercial experience that’s two deep statewide, plus they’re eager for the work.


You can go fishing between takes on some of the world’s finest trout streams, although we can’t guarantee you’ll catch anything.


No minimum spend required.


No Cap on the Incentives: Big ideas don’t necessarily mean big budgets but if you have a big budget you won’t be penalized.


The country’s best microbrews are found in Montana. Granted that’s a pretty bold statement, but after a long, productive day you’ll believe it.

Free location PHOTOS: We provide location photography, inside information and assistance in finding and securing locations.


Free script breakdown: We’ll help with the logistics of your script, find locations to fit your script and hook you up with the appropriate crew and contacts.

Location fees are inexpensive and in some cases free. Just remember to close the gate behind you.


You can average around 70 miles per hour between locations so you can shoot an urban scene in the morning and a remote setting in the evening.

Interns are readily available: We prefer the term greenhorns to grunts, but Montana State University’s highly acclaimed film school has a slew of eager volunteers at your beck and call.

The scenery is the biggest distraction you’ll have to deal with.
