| Cradled between rugged, picturesque mountain peaks just 3 miles east of Yellowstone National Park, lies the
quaint mountain village of Cooke City. With a population of under 100 residents, this small town was established back in the
late 1800's as a mining town when gold was discovered. Throughout the decades, not much has changed in Cooke City, which can
be seen in it's rustic, old west atmosphere. Cooke City has an elevation of over 7,000 feet, which keeps snow on the ground for
much of the year, as does its neighboring town of Silver Gate. |
