Copper King Mansion |
See for yourself what mining in Butte, The Richest Hill on Earth, could build. Built for William A. Clark, one of the principle developers of copper mining in Butte, the Copper King Mansion was constructed from 1884 to 1888. Step back in time and experience Victorian elegance in this beautiful 34-room brick Mansion, with stained glass windows, frescoed ceilings, hand-carved woodwork, and lavish antique furnishings. Some of the rooms featured in this Elizabethan-style mansion include a sixty-four-foot ballroom, a billiard room, a chapel, and a library. In addition, many of the rooms showcase hand-carved and customized mantelpieces, each designed by European craftsmen especially for the Mansion, and each from a different wood. The Copper King owners have numerous collections in the Mansion including dolls, hats, toys, clocks, demitasse cups and steins. Click here for more photos.
